Craftsmen in Sanganer village have pressed natural vegetable dyes onto handspun fabric for over 500 years. Each block is carved by hand from teakwood and can have up to 400 tiny pins. A single saree can use up to 15 different blocks in sequence.
Hand-carved teakwood blocks, 12–72 hour natural dye baths using indigo, pomegranate rind, henna, and mineral pigments. Each print is aligned by eye — no mechanical registration.
